Fictional Rulers We'd Vote For In 2024
Vote up the fictional rulers you'd elect into office any day.
The right to vote is an essential component of any democracy, giving everyone an opportunity to weigh in on who makes decisions on their behalf at a local, regional, state, or national level. Ideally, voting gives people a feeling a sense of ownership in the political process. When the candidates leave a lot to be desired, however, everyday citizens aren't as eager to rush to the polls.
If the candidates were these fictional rulers from books, television, movies, and other aspects of life, though, well, that would make elections a whole lot more interesting. Fictional leaders have the same qualities as human leaders but some are more appealing than others. Cast your votes for the fictional rulers you'd happily vote into office.
- The Lord of the Rings, The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King
Where They Rule: Arnor and Gondor
Why They're Vote-Worthy: Aragorn is more than just the King of Arnor and Gondor - he's a Ranger of the North with weapons acumen and an intimidating yet well-respected demeanor.
Aragorn doesn't take “no” for an answer, is introspective, and doesn't take a lot of risks - all good or bad characteristics, depending on the context.
Where They Rule: The Pride Lands
Why They're Vote-Worthy: Decisive, rife with gravitas, wise, and fair, Mufasa values his family and his subjects alike. His name brings on fear, makes onlookers shudder, and generally makes one not want to mess with him.
Mufasa has his eye on mentoring the youth of the Pride Lands, a sign he acknowledges generational change. Perhaps too trusting at times, Mufasa is dedicated to maintaining the integrity of the “Circle of Life.”
- The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian, The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe
Where They Rule: King of Beasts, King above all High Kings in Narnia
Why They're Vote-Worthy: Aslan can shapeshift but generally appears as a giant lion. Aslan is an esteemed elder willing to sacrifice himself for the betterment of those around him.
Aslan is messianic and exudes wisdom and compassion while simultaneously being comfortable making difficult choices.

King Arthur
Guinevere Jones, Deepak Chopra: Seven Spiritual Laws & The Crystal Cave, Quest for CamelotWhere They Rule: Britain
Why They're Vote-Worthy: A nature leader, King Arthur works well with others, as demonstrated by his Knights of the Round Table. Legendarily, King Arthur defended his kingdom against outsiders in the aftermath of the collapse of Roman Britain.
- Powers & Abilities: Fencing
- Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith
Where They Rule: Naboo
Why They're Vote-Worthy: Queen Amidala's dedication to Naboo is clear, especially after she becomes a member of the Galactic Senate.
While it is a bit of political overreach, her presence in the Senate involves one costume while her role as queen features another. Two-faced? Maybe. But she's young and brings a lot of energy to the position(s). She's also clearly willing to adapt to get things done.

Queen Clarisse Renaldi
The Princess Diaries, The Princess Diaries 2: Royal EngagementWhere They Rule: Genovia
Why They're Vote-Worthy: Left with no other option but to train her granddaughter, Mia, to pick up the duties of the royal family, Queen Clarisse puts duty above desire. Strict and proper, Queen Clarisse has little patience for someone who doesn't follow the rules.
