Vote up the twists in Netflix movies and on Netflix shows that truly blew your mind.

One of the best things about Netflix originals is the constant influx of new content that in turn brings jaw-dropping new plot twists. Whether it's a series or a movie, Netflix doesn't hesitate to drop a twist that keeps fans talking. Each plot twist and turn sends viewers for a loop, making them question if what they just watched makes any sense. The best thing about plot twists is when they're completely unexpected, further throwing viewers into a state of disarray.

This list of Netflix originals showcases some of the best — and most unexpected — plot twists on the platform, each designed to make these movies and series an edge-of-your-seat good time to watch. From thrillers to comedies and everything in between, this list definitely doesn't disappoint. The only question is: which twist is the best?

The Plot: Ozark follows Marty Byrde (Jason Bateman), a financial advisor who is forced to uproot his Chicago-based family and relocate them to the Ozarks in Missouri in order to launder money for a drug boss.

The Twist: Ozark is filled with one twist after another, but some of the biggest come in the series finale. While all signs indicate that Marty will get killed, especially with Hellen (Janet McTeer) looking to take over the business, Navarro (who was working as an FBI informant and is played by Felix Solis) has his hitman shoot Hellen instead.

The Plot: Sydney Novak (Sophia Lillis) is often overwhelmed by her feelings, especially after her father's suicide. She comes to find out she harbors psychokinetic powers ignored by these emotions.

The Twist: It turns out that Sydney helped her father commit suicide, using her powers to do so. She knew her father, a Marine, struggled with PTSD, but she had no clue that her then-repressed powers ultimately helped her father end his trauma.

  • Dark

The Plot: Characters in a German town search for the truth following a local child named Mikkel's disappearance, looking for connections among four distant families.

The Twist: Mikkel wasn't really missing, not in the traditional sense. He was kidnapped and taken back in time to 1986. He was actually the child version of Michael (Sebastian Rudolph), Jonas' (Louis Hofmann) father — one of the show's two main influencers.

  • Do Revenge

The Plot: High schoolers Drea (Camila Mendes) and Eleanor (Maya Hawke) get together at a summer camp and devise a secret plan to get revenge on the people making their lives miserable.

The Twist: Although it seems like Drea and Eleanor develop a genuine friendship while executing their plot, it turns out that Eleanor was seeking revenge on Drea the whole time. Drea originally started a rumor that greatly affected Eleanor, and the latter held a grudge.

The Plot: When Louise (Simona Brown), a single mother embarks upon a torrid love affair with her boss, David (Tom Bateman) — befriending his wife Adele (Eve Hewson) in the process — things take a turn for the strange with nothing quite as it seems.

The Twist: This series winds up being fraught with astral projection and body swaps, throwing viewers for a complete loop. It turns out that Adele isn't actually Adele but Rob (Robert Aramayo), an addict she previously met. After teaching him how to astral project, he decided to take over her body for himself, marrying David. This plot twist takes place at the end of the series, confusing everyone watching the series and leaving so many unanswered questions.

    Huge twist?
  • The Fall of the House of Usher

The Plot: A corrupt pharmaceutical guru, Roderick Usher (Zach Gilford/Bruce Greenwood), and his sister, Madeline Usher (Walla Fitzgerald/Mary McDonnell) rise to power, no matter the cost — even if it's his children.

The Twist: Roderick and Madeline made a deal with a bartender (Carla Gugino) for power and success. But they never take the deal seriously and, when Verna comes to collect, they realize just how serious the deal was. One of the many plot twists is that Verna wasn't evil at all, despite the atrocities she is present for — she is just there to execute Roderick's and Madeline's bargain. Nothing more and nothing less.
