2024 was a strange year of highs and lows for movies. While Inside Out 2 beat box-office records for animated films and Deadpool & Wolverine earned the most for any R-rated movie in history, there were plenty of times movies performed well below expectations.
Joker Folie à Deux bombed so hard that it's now the biggest comic book flop of all time. Yellowstone fans didn't follow Kevin Costner into theaters for Horizon: An American Saga - Chapter 1 - which was supposed to be the first of a four-part film series. Francis Ford Coppola spent about $120 million of his own money on Megalopolis, only for it to fail. Borderlands once again proved the difficulties of adapting a video game to screen. And then there's Red One, whose trailers made it look like a ridiculously expensive TV movie.
Which of these movies do you think were the biggest wastes of studio money?
