Whether they're victims of bad timing, misguided marketing, or other unforeseen circumstances, these movies didn't make their studios much money in 2024. Despite all of that, there's something still worth seeing in them. Maybe some will live on as misunderstood classic. Vote up the 2024 flops that you think are worth a watch.

  • Why It Deserves More Credit: A love letter to practical stunts and the daredevils who put their bodies on the line for them, The Fall Guy has so much going for it. Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt have a crackling chemistry, and the action sequences keep building to an exhilarating and funny  climax.

    • Actors: Ryan Gosling, Emily Blunt, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Hannah Waddingham, Teresa Palmer
    • Released: 2024
    • Directed by: David Leitch

  • Why It Deserves More Credit: Abigail was the first miss from directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett after Ready or Not and the two most recent Scream entries, which was a shame for a genuinely inventive take on vampire tropes.

The gore and mood were top notch, with distinct characters that were fun to see fight back against a hilariously overpowered preteen vampire who keeps finding new ways to psychologically them. It all lines up to promise a future cult classic perfect for midnight madness screenings.

    • Actors: Melissa Barrera, Dan Stevens, Kathryn Newton, William Catlett, Kevin Durand
    • Released: 2024
    • Directed by: Matt Bettinelli-Olpin, Tyler Gillett

  • Why It Deserves More Credit: Many were shocked that a prequel to one of the most beloved action masterpieces of the 21st century barely made a dent in the box office when it was released in May.

Perhaps audiences didn't expect much of a payoff considering they know the fates of Furiosa and Immortan Joe in Fury Road. Regardless, they missed out on a worthy extension of George Miller's post-apocalyptic vision with an arresting performance from Anya Taylor-Joy and a truly transformative villain played by Chris Hemsworth.

    • Actors: Anya Taylor-Joy, Chris Hemsworth, Tom Burke, Lachy Hulme, Charlee Fraser
    • Released: 2024
    • Directed by: George Miller

  • Why It Deserves More Credit: The Bikeriders arrived in the middle of June with the polish and pedigree of an Academy Awards contended, but was overshadowed by family friendly blockbusters Inside Out 2 and Despicable Me 4

The period film looks great, and the acting is top notch across the board with standout turns from Tom Hardy, Austin Butler, and Jodie Comer. It's a great window into a specific era of Americana.

    • Actors: Austin Butler, Jodie Comer, Tom Hardy, Michael Shannon, Norman Reedus
    • Released: 2024
    • Directed by: Jeff Nichols

  • Why It Deserves More Credit: While it made a fair bit at the box office, IF failed to match the success of director John Krasinski's most recent films or the widespread popularity of other family-friendly movies released over the summer.

Still, IF is packed with imaginative flourishes and set pieces that will keep kids entertained. It's the type of movie that parents can pick for family movie night and be pleasantly surprised by the end.

    • Actors: Cailey Fleming, Ryan Reynolds, John Krasinski, Fiona Shaw, Phoebe Waller-Bridge
    • Released: 2024
    • Directed by: John Krasinski

  • Why It Deserves More Credit: The First Omen took what should have been a boring idea - a prequel to The Omen - and made it something entirely its own. It’s a tense slow burn of a movie and is, in many ways, more terrifying than the 1976 classic. For the non-squeamish horror fans, watching a woman give birth to a demon claw is worth the ticket price alone.

The obvious comparisons to 2024’s Immaculate didn’t help The First Omen at the box office, which is a shame, because the prequel’s cliffhanger twist would have been fun to see explored in future sequels.

    • Actors: Nell Tiger Free, Ralph Ineson, Sonia Braga, Tawfeek Barhom, María Caballero
    • Released: 2024
    • Directed by: Arkasha Stevenson
