Since then, nearly twenty 3D Sonic platforming games have been released, with the newest being Sonic x Shadow Generations in late 2024. The new standalone adventure that sees Shadow taking on his arch nemesis Black Doom was reviewed positively, and even earned a Overwhelmingly Positive score on Steam.
